Williamson, Thomas A., proprietor Russell House, Keosauqua; born Oct. 11, 1826, in Harrison Co., W. Va.; came from there to this county in 1854; stopped at Winchester a short time; then purchased a farm lying on the county line, being in Jefferson and this county, on which he lived one year; then sold, and purchased a farm near Winchester; remained there and at Birmingham till 1862; he went to California, Montana and Oregon; returned home in 1865, and, in 1868, moved into Birmingham, and, in 1870, came to Summit; in July, 1874, came to Keosauqua and purchased the Russell House, which he is still running. He was married to Miss Harriet Kinnard, of Taylor Co., W. Va., June 28, 1848; she died in this county in 1855. He was again married to Barbara Walter Feb. 3, 1857; she was born March 24, 1833, in Randolph Co., W. Va.; have two children living by first wife -- Mary J. and James K., and three by second wife -- Hattie A., Thomas R. and George M.; his oldest son, William H., died at Birmingham; had previously been admitted to the bar as an attorney. Democrat.
