JONATHAN MCQUOID

Mary Ellen Weatherington, daughter of Jonathan and Mary Jane McQuoidWeatherington was born February 17, 1864 at Milton Iowa and departed this life on November 11, 1939, at the age of 75 years, 8 months and 24 days.
She was united in marriage to James Philemon Wilson on March 28, 1894 and to this union two children were born: Ethel Faye Bingaman and Craig W. She spent all her life in this vicinity where she was beloved alike by her host of lifelong friends and her former students who appreciated the lessons in fine living she brought them in her teaching days. She was a devoted and considerate wife and mother and her loving nature manifested itself beyond her home in her thoughtfulness and care of others. Even when her health began to fail she was still interested in her home and kept on working in it devotely. Through these many years of affliction she was given every attention possible but it seemed ill health was to be her cross. At times the cross seemed too heavy to bear but helped and encouraged by her family and friends, she pressed on heroically. Those who knew her marvelled at her patience and courage in the face of her heavy burden. Her's was a noble Christian charcter. always trusting God's will and deriving constant comfort from her through Bible reading. While we grieve for her, we know it is her gain.
She is survived by her husband and both children, and one brother, Oscar Weatherington of Milton Iowa, also three grandchildren, Dwight Bingaman, Jocelyn and Jimmy Wilson, and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was proceded in death by her parents, four sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services were held in the Lebanon Methodist Church Monday at 1:30 p.m., conducted by Rev. Harvey Butler of the Milton Methodist Church. Interment was made in the Lebanon cemetery. I am not related and am posting this obituary for those who might find this person in their family history.
